Taxpayers across North Carolina have a chance again this year to compare their local tax-and-fee burdens to those of people living in other Tar Heel cities and counties, thanks to this morning’s release of the latest By The Numbers report from the John Locke Foundation.

Among the headlines: Mooresville ends Charlotte’s 11-year run as the larger N.C. city with the largest local tax-and-fee burden. Mooresville and Charlotte are among the seven cities (two more than last year) with tax-and-fee burdens topping $2,000 per person.
