Discussing George Bush’s eloquent, gracious and generous comments today on Barack Obama’s win, NBC’s Chuck Todd had this to say:

I mean, it was as if he wanted to bask in the reflected glory of the history that was made. Very — just like John McCain did last night. And it is more striking coming from the man who’s probably more responsible for not just Obama’s election but John McCain’s defeat than anybody else.

With the media, if you’re nice you’re an opportunist. If you’re partisan, you’re a boor, a divider or a racist. You can’t win.
