Now that WFAE has posted the entire memos that Major Tim Danchess of the CMPD’s Internal Affairs unit sent out last year regarding then-officer Marcus Jackson we have additional persons who need to provide a complete and clear account of the department’s handling of Jackson.

The department’s Deputy chiefs — that would be David Graham, Ken Miller, Kerr Putney, Harold Medlock, and Ruth Story — CMPD Attorney Mark Newbold, chief-of-staff Ray Tarasovic, and Major Diego Anselmo, head of the Northeast Service Area of Patrol, which includes the Eastway Division to which Jackson was assigned all received both the Sept. 14th memo and the Nov. 5th memo, along with Chief Rodney Monroe.

Still unclear — for reasons we outlined yesterday — is when City Manager Curt Walton learned of the existence of the Nov. 5th memo. Walton is bobbing and weaving, trying to avoid an answer to that question.

Not for very much longer.

Bonus Observation: Recall that Newbold along with city attorneys sought to block the release of the 911 tapes involving Jackson.
