It may only take three Pollocks to change a light bulb, but it will take $258,000 in federal porkulus to help seventeen Asheville restaurants do the same. The total project, estimated at $400,000, will pay for curly-fry light bulbs, solar panels, low-flow dishwashing nozzles, and weather stripping for coolers. The grant is availed through the Blue Ridge Sustainability Institute.

Restaurant owners say the improvements will help further define Asheville as a destination for people seeking unique, socially conscious eateries. It also will move them closer to achieving a unique certification through the Green Restaurant Association.

Huh? Oh, meanwhile, unstimulated, and unexcited, albeit once established, restaurants continue to go out of business in impressive numbers.
