That would be another on-court brawl, this one featuring the heavily marketed Carmelo Anthony of the Denver Nuggets. Anthony, the league’s leading scorer, was among the 10 players ejected late in a game as the Nuggets were blowing out the hapless New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden.
Now all eyes turn to see how NBA Commissioner David Stern reacts. Stern has pushed through both a dress code and a strict no-arguing with the refs rule in a bid to improve the league’s image. Now he faces having to suspend Anthony, who violated league rules by throwing a punch in the melee.
