A HUD audit of the Housing Authority of Winston-Salem finds $2 million in unaccounted for expenses and $82,000 in improperly reimbursed funds.
HAWS director Larry Woods says no one has been sticking money in their pockets. He also says most of the money was spent by previous administrations, yet the audit covers the time period from 2007 to 2009, after Woods took over.
Once again — this is government in the housing business.
