I’ve blogged a lot about incentives.  They’re everywhere and I don’t like them.  But is the problem actually getting worse?  Because if this story is anything to go by, North Carolina finds itself in a position where incentives have become so common as to be expected.  Consequently, Proctor and Gamble is asking for $2 million from Greensboro and Guilford County.  Because that’s what you do.  Want to expand your operations?  Then of course you ask for money from the city, county, and state governments.  Where does this stop?
