Jon,
The likes of Price and Miller would no doubt prefer a town hall meeting with the fictitious British teletubbies than with an actual person from Britain, Daniel Hannan.
In this column Jillian Bandes (who got in hot water several years ago as a UNC student for writing politically incorrect things) covers the recent speech Mr. Hannan gave in which he urged Americans not to make the terrible mistake the British made back in 1948. Government-run health care will mean poorer care at higher cost. (I’d add that in this regard, it’s just like education: “public education” is notoriously high in cost and low in effectiveness, with an establishment that it much better at PR and politics than teaching children.)
But of course, no one should listen to this guy. He must be just more “astroturf.”
