Kay HaganAs CJ’s Don Carrington reported, Sen. Kay Hagan and her camp have provided inconsistent answers about the legal advice sought regarding a stimulus-funded grant that one of her husband’s companies received, and other unusual aspects of the deal.

Now, the Washington Free Beacon profiles that attorney, Marc Elias of the Perkins Coie law firm. From the story:

“There is no Democratic-side campaign finance lawyer who is more important than Marc Elias,” Robert Lenhard, a former Federal Election Commission (FEC) chairman, told Politico. “That is without a doubt.”

Republicans in Kansas call Elias “Harry Reid and Barack Obama’s personal political attorney,” and as Don notes, the Hagan campaign has spent more than $515,000 $155,000 with Perkins Coie this election cycle.
