People worry about Wal-Mart’s size and market power–I hear about it all the time. But I haven’t heard anything negative about the new bill that writes a government check bigger than Wal-Mart’s sales last year.
Wal-Mart: $285 billion total sales (not profit)
Road Bill: $286 billion “investment”
The same people who criticize “power” in the private sector tend to ignore it in the hands of government.
