The suspect in the Eve Carson murder has turned up in photos at a Chapel Hill area convenience store where he was hunting up an ATM to use. If the photos are going to lead to an arrest, it will happen this week. Someone out there knows something.
Given that the suspect has shown wearing gloves in the drive-thru ATM photos I am going to assume that the forensic sweep of the vehicle will not turn up much that will lead to an arrest. This looks to have been a carefully planned crime and leaving fingerprints all over the place would be a surprise.
The gloves also suggest the perp knows that his fingerprints would give him away — which in turn suggests a prior arrest record. In fact, I’d wager we have another repeat violent offender on the loose, set free by North Carolina’s revolving-door prison system.
