The legislature continues to believe your tax dollars should be used to help politicians fund their personal campaigns.
On Tuesday, May 12th (9-11 am, Room 1027 LB), the Senate Judiciary I committee will meet and is scheduled to discuss several bills, including SB 966. This legislation would expand taxpayer financing to cover all the Council of State races.
It doesn’t matter that taxpayer financing is unconstitutional or unethical.
When you struggle to pay your bills, you can feel good knowing that your hard-earned dollars are going to support politicians that you oppose.
Somehow, this is supposed to make us have more faith in the political system.
