The economy is thriving. Government is building all kinds of stuff to house its increasing capacity. Jobs are being created out the ying-yang. As another example, the Eastern Band of Cherokee are breaking ground for a new 65,000 sq. ft. justice center.

The new complex will house the Cherokee Tribal Court, the Cherokee Police Department and a new jail facility, and its design will incorporate the site’s natural contours in a tiered design that steps up the mountain with a common area connecting all floors. The project will also implement “green” building design and construction and will strive to be the third Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design-certified building in Cherokee.

Best of all, the facility is partially free, as it is funded by that amazing porkulus stuff that comes neither from taxes nor higher taxes to cover interest on extended debt. No! jobs for increasing government capacity (like the capacity to put more citizens behind bars) come from hope and change.
