ABC World News named as its “Person of the Week” Pamela Davis, the CEO of hospital in Illinois. She helped the FBI investigate corruption after she applied for a Certificate of Need (CON) to expand her hospital.
Davis’ connection to the [Gov. Blagojevich] investigation began in 2003 when she was president and CEO of Edward Hospital in Naperville, Ill. While working to win approval from the state health planning board to expan her facilities, Davis says she received warnings that she would only gainapproval if she used a specific, politically connected contractor and investment firm.
It’s a good example of the CON game Roy has detailed in this report.
