Both the Forsyth County Commissioners and the Winston-Salem City Council discussed the resolution supporting the Heart of the Triad last night. Both wisely held off until answers about the makeup of the steering committee could be cleared up:

The Heart of the Triad’s proposal is to have a steering committee that includes two representatives from each of the municipalities and three from the counties.

It would also have two representatives from the N.C. Department of Transportation; one from the four local chambers of commerce; one each from Duke Energy, BB&T and Time Warner Cable; and one each from Piedmont Triad International Airport, High Point Furniture Market, and the City-County Utility Commission.

The furniture market? Somebody needs to explain what a struggling twice-a-year event can possibly bring to the table here. Indicative of how strange this concept is, if you ask me.
