Last week I talked about occupational licensing reforms in Idaho and Ohio. Other states are currently thinking about reform:

  • In Wisconsin, license issuance and renewal fees are being reduced.
  • Policymakers in Maine are studying ways to make it easier to get a license in Maine, especially for professionals licensed elsewhere moving into the state.
  • A bill in Arizona would make it the first state with “universal licensing recognition,” meaning a licensed professional in good standing from any other state who moves into Arizona would automatically qualify for an occupational license in that field.
