The Charlotte Business Journal picks up and runs with the points we made a couple weeks ago about what is shaping up as a weak fall of concert bookings for the Uptown Arena. An added tidbit: That the Bobcats and AEG, the booking outfit the team hired by January to ramp up shows at the building, are booking Charlotte long-distance from LA. The reason? Local staff have yet to hired to do that job.

Whoa. That is shocking. And if you read between the lines, the Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority are none too happy with the Bobcats’ inability to even staff a local booking operation. If you ask me — and no one ever does because I say things no one wants to hear — it sounds like the Bobcats are being cheap again.
