I’m not sure how well it will translate on screen, but the book is a hilarious spoof of business self-help quackery. It centers on a failed Wall Street investor who winds up in a monastery, whose abbot has basically abandoned the Bible in favor of Deepak Chopra. One of my favorite passages: our hero, “Brother Ty,” is pressed by the abbot into investing the monastery’s dwindling funds, and he reads the story about Jesus casting the demons into swine, who throw themselves off a cliff, he takes that as a sign from God to short in pork belly futures.

Frankly, I thought CB’s Little Green Men would hit the big screen before any of his others.
