Ya’ think? That’s a headline in the Telegraph today. It’s about Britain and Muslims, but the argument holds for the United States and the one-two punch of illegal immigration and rampant identity politics:
But while multiculturalism began as a facet of Britain’s characteristic toleration of other people’s ways, religions, cuisines, languages and dress, it metamorphosed into a political creed that held that ethnic minority groups should be allowed to do what they like. It became a guiding principle of governance.
The Duke lacrosse rape hoax showed the extent of the problem, not only in Durham, where ethnic and class demogoguery is high art, but nationwide. Multiculturalism teaches that the majority culture must change to accommodate minority cultures and wishes, otherwise the society is racist. Sadly, too many people are falling for that.
