A Gaston County grand jury has handed down second-degree murder charges on Howard Clay Pasour, 28, the man accused of driving drunk and crashing head-on into 17-year-old Laura Fortenberry late last month. Fortenberry, a passenger in the car Pasour hit, was killed.
Bonus Observation: Speaking of murder charges and Gaston County, what ever happened to the trial of the men — Mark Bradley Carver and Neal Leon Cassada Jr. — accused of killing Ira Yarmolenko? It was supposed to go down last month. Or has the SBI crime lab implosion derailed that deal as well? Strange silence.
