Today’s public education outrage is……

…….Delaying the release of test scores until after Tuesday’s vote.

Good night! Thanks for playing Whose Banana Republic Is It, Anyway?

What a frickin’ joke. State Board of Education Chairman Howard Lee must take us for a bunch of morons. Then again, to the extent we are products of his K-12 regime, we well might be.

Here’s the dope: Lee and his cronies in Raleigh are delaying the release of the scores so as not to totally sink Wake County’s listing $970 million bond vote. End. Of. Story.

Forsyth County’s $250 million bond is only in slightly better shape and does not need any more negative school pub. Then you have office holders across the state running campaigns that assume the education regime merely needs more money to be spectactularly successful. It all adds up to a craven move to suppress the latest bad news.

Plus, as former CMS board member Lindalyn Kakadelis notes, bad ABC scores would have triggered tutoring or school choice options for kids trapped in chronically bad schools. And Lee and the edu-establishment cannot have that.

Update: You can go here to see the “preliminary” results, pending state Board “approval” — which evidently means spin.
