That?s certainly the impression one gets from Newsweek?s latest cover, which features the iconic finger-pointing Uncle Sam and the headline ?I Want You to Start Spending! Invest in America ? Before It?s Too late.?
Never mind the fact that consumer spending and capital investment aren?t the same animal. The magazine?s editors and writers don?t seem to understand where the problems really lie.
