North Carolina’s status as a right-to-work state has attracted quite a bit of attention recently, especially with discussion about the possibility of enshrining right-to-work status in the state Constitution.

N.C. State University economist Walter Wessels offers no thoughts about that political decision, but Wessels did share with the John Locke Foundation’s Shaftesbury Society today his research into the impact of a right-to-work law on a state’s economy. In the video clip below, Wessels discusses the economic impact of private-sector unions.
