In a 5-2 ruling issued today, the N.C. Supreme Court reversed the Court of Appeals and threw out an adoption involving Sen. Julia Boseman and a former domestic partner.
The ruling lets stand a lower-court ruling giving Boseman and former partner Melissa Jarrell joint custody of the child, who is now 8 years old.
