Down 35 percent in July 2011 as compared to July 2010 with the HOF losing $143,742 for the month. That’s pretty sad really — a six figure loss in what should be the hall’s third or fourth best month of the year. Note that the previous sentence did not include the word “surprising” because it isn’t surprising to anyone who has been paying attention. And this story will just get uglier from here.

The really question now is whether anyone Uptown learns from this episode and concludes that local government shouldn’t build random expensive stuff based upon a hope that the proverbial “they” will come. One can hope but given that this is Charlotte that might be expecting too much…
