With apologies to Earl Scruggs I note that Nashville will vote on half-cent sales tax increase next week and wonder of wonders, the pro-tax side has raised some $200,000 from various business and organized labor interests while the anti-tax side as raised NOTHING. The anti-tax side says they don’t need money to make their point, namely that spending money seldom makes things better all by itself.
