The NEA’s Serrano Emerging Artists program had its hopes dashed by Newsweek’s admission of problems with its report “accusing U.S. interrogators of flushing the Koran down the toilet to rattle a detainee.”
Seems program officers had already made inquiries seeking to identify the struggling artist who, bereft of government funding for artistic expression, sought succor for his muse within the sweltering confines of Gitmo prisoner interrogation.
