Self-appointed spokeswacko for body parts Eve Ensler will be in Chapel Hill Wednesday night, the Daily Tar Heel announces today.
The announcement also features a good example of the non sequitur, a concept some of us were discussing the other day. “As poor body image, disordered eating and related issues affect large numbers of women and men alike, I encourage all students to consider attending Wednesday?s event and thereby take advantage of the opportunity to engage in much-needed dialogue about these matters.” Given the existence of those problems, it does not follow that watching this huckster peddle her bizarre wares will address them in any substantive way. I find it noteworthy that one doesn’t go to hear Ensler, but to “see” her.
