This might be a first – an entire article about a company considering a move to Raleigh, and not a single mention of incentive grants or tax breaks to get them here.  Instead,

Raleigh’s lower cost and tech talent base makes it an attractive relocation site for Appian. The city’s relative proximity to the D.C.-area is another plus.

This is how North Carolina SHOULD be competing with other locales.  We have a relatively low cost of living, great location, and lots of talent.  That’s far more sustainable and stable than a bunch of government programs.  And it doesn’t cost the taxpayers a thing.
