Last week, I wrote that the NC Department of Public Instruction (DPI) allowed “the North Carolina Association of Educators (NCAE) to recruit members during informational sessions for those interested in National Board Certification.”

Top NC State Board of Education (SBE) officials assure me that DPI and the SBE were not aware of the activities described in the NCAE Facebook post and will take measures to ensure that it never happens again.  I believe them.  After all, alignment with the NC Association of Educators would not benefit DPI or the SBE politically, nor would it advance their policy agenda.

I sincerely appreciate the fact that SBE leaders addressed my concerns quickly and unequivocally.
