Last year, North Carolina’s state government provides the 10th highest percentage share of K-12 education revenue in the nation. According to the National Education Association’s Rankings and Estimates report, state government revenue accounts for 59.8 percent of all K-12 public school funding.
North Carolina was second only to Kentucky, which had a 61 percent share, among states in the Southeast.
