In Teacher Retirement Systems: A Ranking of the States, researchers from Bellweather Education Partners rank the teacher retirement systems of all 50 states and the District of Columbia. The report describes the 15+ variables used to create the ranking.
North Carolina ranked 13 out of 51 overall. States with a C have “a strong foundation on which to build but must address shortcomings in order to better support retirement security and fiscal responsibility.”
The teacher retirement system is one of the best for taxpayers.
