We know that parents are concerned about learning loss. Yet, members of the North Carolina Association of Educators (NCAE) are trying to convince school boards to adopt early dismissal days due to “student and staff burnout.”
Early dismissal days can be a tremendous burden on parents, particularly hourly workers, small business owners, and others who have minimal flexibility in their work schedules.
