Following the release of the New Commission on the Skills of the American Work Force‘s final report,  Lindalyn Kakadelis was asked by Kentucky’s Boiling Green Daily News to elaborate on the commission’s recommendations. The gist of her view was a highlighted topic in one of Lindalyn’s recent journals for the weekly NCEA e-letter. Participating in a conference call set-up by the Heritage Foundation, Lindalyn joined twenty education policy staffers with other think tanks across the nation to review Senators Cornyn and DeMint’s idea for the future growth of NCLB. The plan focuses on student performance instead of teacher compliance. Keeping up with new, innovative approaches to solving modern K-12 problems, the NCEA recently held a Headliner Luncheon in Charlotte with Bryan Hassel, co-author of a new report by the Thomas B. Fordham Foundation, Fund the Child: Tackling Inequity and Antiquity in School Finance.  The luncheon brought together many policy-makers in the Charlotte area.
