Here’s your quick-and-dirty rundown on the eleven things the new Republican majority in Raleigh could do to better North Carolina more or less immediately — if it so chooses.

It’s such a fine line between stupid and clever.

Long-form details for the first 100 days of 2011 session here. I have a number in mind of how many actually get done, but I’ll hold off and see what others think.

I feel my role in the band is to be kind of the middle of that, kind of like lukewarm water.

But as I’ve said before, there will be actual change in Raleigh in 2011 in direct proportion to the extent 2012 politics does not intrude, particularly politics regarding the occupant the governor’s mansion. What have we seen already? A photo ID to vote dust-up. Wrong.

I’m sure I’d feel much worse if I weren’t under such heavy sedation.

North Carolina Republicans need to take a deep breath and really think. (I know, I know…) Cynics are just idealists who see attainable good smashed, dashed, and ignored time after time. And nihilists are cynics who have been taught — by word and deed — that good cannot be attained, and therefore, does not exist.

I just hate it… it really, it does disturb me, but i’ll rise above it; I’m a professional.
