Today’s Technician reports that James Oblinger, the former chancellor of NC State who resigned in June over the Mary Easley hiring and pay dust-up, is one of five finalists for the position of president of the New Mexico State University system.

In fact, a press release posted on the NMSU Web site confirms it. According to the release, a decision will be made in mid-November. NMSU has also posted Oblinger’s biography on its presidential search site. You’ll find it here.
