This week, the National Center for Teacher Quality (NCTQ) published their 2014 Teacher Prep Review, which evaluates and ranks many of the nation’s undergraduate and graduate teacher education programs.
The highest ranked programs in North Carolina included the following:
Elementary programs (national rank):
Secondary programs (national rank):
The lowest ranked program in North Carolina is Western Carolina’s undergraduate secondary education program (389). That said, many of the state’s programs were not ranked, so Western is the lowest among a fairly small group of ranked institutions.
N.C. State earned a surprisingly low rank, 242nd for both undergraduate and graduate elementary education programs.
