Education Week reporter Stephen Sawchuk is posting live updates from the National Association Education convention in Atlanta.  He writes,

Since 2010-11, the National Education Association has lost about 234,000 members, of which 201,000 are classroom teachers, according to the strategic plan and budget just presented here at the National Education Association’s 2013 Representative Assembly.

Despite the loss of members, NEA revenues totaled $345 million last year. A portion of these revenues include dues from members of the North Carolina Association of Educators (NCAE), a state affiliate of the NEA.
