When Paul Messino joined the staff following a stint as a JLF intern while attending UNC-CH, we knew he was smart. Now other people know it, too. Last month, Paul competed in speech and essay contests sponsored by the N.C. Junior Chamber of Commerce, of which he’s a member. He did so well that he moved on to the state competition and, last weekend, WON both titles. If Messino prevails in the next round, he will represent North Carolina at the nationals. Paul is also a talented writer. November’s issue of The Freeman will include a piece he authored.
