Per a recent Supreme Court decision that determined that some of the House districts are not in constitutional compliance, the House re-drew districts in Pender and New Hanover counties. The bill passed a House Committee chaired by Rep. Grier Martin, D-Wake, last week after two short committee meetings and a public hearing.
House Bill 1621 passes, and the new districts will be effective for the 2010 elections.
