Nancy Waldrop, the wife of outgoing Buncombe County Commissioner David King, has announced her intention to run as an unaffiliated candidate. Waldrop, who has consistently served in leadership positions in local Republican groups, said the citizens of Buncombe County need a commissioner who will put the needs of the community before partisan politics. King was voted out by a political campaign protesting his un-Republican support for giving GE megabucks, property, &c from the public treasury.
