Well, it finally happened: US Airways is starting service to the two most obvious holes in its domestic network from CLT, its largest hub. Flights to Austin and San Antonio start on May 4. Service will be twice a day on 86-seat CRJ-900 jets.
Also, it appears that seasonal non-stop service to Portland, OR resumes on June 3. It’s a daily 5:55pm departure from CLT with a red-eye return flight from PDX. (And, yes, US Airways also has a daily non-stop frm Charlotte to Portland, Maine.)
