Speaking of hiring city attorneys, the City of Winston-Salem just hired a new one, deciding to stay in-house:
Angela Carmon, a staff attorney for the city of Winston-Salem since 1988, was sworn in last night as the city attorney.
With her appointment, the city marks two milestones. She is the first woman city attorney and the first black person to fill the post.
