Americans for Prosperity-North Carolina took several hundred members to Washington, D.C., yesterday for the “Final Stand” health care protest. One of our members, an 84-year-old man from Western North Carolina, fell during his visit and received a deep cut near his eye. Chris Farr took him to George Washington University Hospital for treatment and stayed with him until he was released.
He had made the trip with another gentleman from his hometown, that he didn’t know all that well.
His doctors provided excellent care and even went so far as to call in a plastic surgeon and order a CAT scan to assess the trauma. The CAT scan showed that he has a brain mass. The doctors do not think that his fall and subsequent cut to his eye are related to the brain mass in any way. Had he not fallen, he may have never known about the brain mass until it killed him. He is now home and will continue treatment this week.
How ironic.
Our member travelled to Washington to save the world’s best healthcare system. The fact that he came on our trip and took a tumble just might save his life. This terrible healthcare system that the left wants to destroy did not let the 84-year-old man down. He was looked at as a patient to be cured, not a cost to be contained.
