House bill 636 passed, and sits in the Senate Health Committee. It
would make it unlawful for physicians, dentists, and others to bill a
patient (or paying entity) for pathology services in excess of their
costs for the services (when done by an outside entity), unless this
excess amount is fully disclosed (in 10 pt) on the bill.  Once
again, we see that some in government think physicians should not be
allowed to take advantage of the normal and fair free market mechanism
of mark-ups. How about requiring this disclosure of the mark-up on an
article of designer clothing hmmm?
