In the movie The Hunt for Red October, there’s a scene where a Soviet sub commander, frantic to torpedo Red October, recklessly sets up his own boat for demolition by the torpedo meant for Red October. After the crew realizes that their own torpedo is about to sink them, an officer turns to the commander and says, “You’ve killed us, you arrogant ass!”
That scene seems particularly relevant to our political/economic situation these days.
