President Obama is trying to explain away pushback from the American people to his policies with this reasoning: (emphasis is mine)

“If there’s one thing that I regret this year is that we were so busy just getting stuff done and dealing with the immediate crises that were in front of us that I think we lost some of that sense of speaking directly to the American people about what their core values are and why we have to make sure those institutions are matching up with those values,” Obama told ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos in an exclusive interview at the White House.

Sorry, Mr. President, but no.

First, A lack of talking is hardly Mr. Obama’s problem.

And more importantly, I believe the Massachusetts results and Mr. Obama’s plummeting approval ratings can be traced to the exact opposite of Mr. Obama’s reasoning. The American people have, indeed, listened to the president and have discovered exactly what his core values are. And they don’t agree with him. His Leftist core values — massive government intervention into the private sector and redistributionist economic policies that punish the productive — do not match up with the values held by the majority of the citizens who live in this center-right country.
