Duke Energy announced plans to close its coal-fired plant on Lake Julian. Environmentalists should be happy, but they’re not. Duke said they would replace it with a natural gas and solar plant. The solar part pleases the environmentalists, but has some poor people worried about leaning on unreliable technology to stay warm. The natural gas part does not amuse the environmentalists, as it has been made possible by fracking.
