From the fiscal debacle that is California comes more bad news for hard working, tax-paying Americans. Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger is pushing for federal dollars to bail out the state, now that years and years and years of liberal policies have driven the California economy into the ground. The state has a $20 billion deficit and Schwarzenegger wants $8 billion from the feds. And by the way, the health care “reform” that’s set to pass the Senate tomorrow will be another nail in California’s coffin, unless Schwarzenegger figures out a way to pull a Ben Nelson. The governor sent a letter to the state’s congressional delegation Tuesday night in which he demanded more money for federal healthcare programs for which the state is paying part of the tab. He warned that the historic healthcare reforms poised for passage in Congress may add to the burden, costing the state as much as $4 billion annually.
