Just wondering if a group of fiscal conservatives and/or tea party members would get/has gotten this kind of assistance from Raleigh officials. Wow.

A City Council panel this morning recommended against allowing Occupy Raleigh demonstrators to camp outside City Hall, saying the request poses too many health and legal risks.

But the city is willing to work with the group to find private property in downtown suitable for an encampment, Councilwoman Mary-Ann Baldwin told demonstrators after an hourlong discussion.

No specific sites were discussed, but Baldwin said mayor-elect Nancy McFarlane has already reached out to landowners who may be willing to make property available.
